Despite whatever applicable validity there may or may not be to your expressed opinions, this thread in and of itself is not, in my opinion, particularly indicative of the character traits you suggest.
While one possible reading may well be that the poster suggests nothing interesting happened in his absence and that he is also important enough to deserve a recap on significant details, that is not the only possible reading.
One could instead read an honest interest in the content of the board, and a desire to hear interesting news without wading through pages of people telling Patrick not to be stupid etc.
Kieffer not much has happened.
