So would the fact that the film is called The House That Drips Blood on Alex.

I meant he was intentionally going in that camp area, ala Snakes on a Plane, and intentional camp is never as good as the genuine accidental article.

I don't know if you've read any interviews with the guy, but he really is incredibly dense (and, it would seem, almost illiterate) and while he likes the attention that comes with making the Best Worst Movie it's pretty obvious that it troubles him deeply. He takes himself very, very seriously and he wants to be recognized as a serious artist. He actually tends towards the first half of the tragicomic spectrum.

He intended for The Room to be his vanity film to show off his skills, and put a lot of work into it. The thing is, he had no idea how to make a movie. It is kind of unfortunate, because he really wants to be taken seriously, he just doesn't have the credentials. I kind of feel bad for him in that he has stooped to pretending that the camp in "The Room" was intended. He should have taken that money for The Room and used it for a better film school than the one he apparently attended.
