Near Lurker:

--- Quote from: jwhouk on 04 Aug 2010, 14:09 ---Cosette can run counter while Hanners runs the Espresso machine. It's actually pretty common practice at *$.

--- End quote ---

There are places that's not common practice?

Carl-E:
Small places that aren't that busy...

So the cliffhanger would be, if it were Friday, "will she melt into it, or will he wind up bruised?"

Actually, he may wind up bruised either way   ;)

But will bones be broken?

I think she's gonna go with it, myself.  It's the look she's giving him in panel 3, the "are you thinking what I'm thinking?" look, and she's just surprised he took action rather than delivering a sassy statement!

Blyss:

--- Quote from: Jeph ---Okay that makes my writing process sound a lot creepier than it actually is.

--- End quote ---

Not really.  I completely understand...

raoullefere:
To paraphrase: "You wouldn't know what they were looking for if you didn't hear the voices in your head." (Thx Cheap Trick)

Really, to me, writing doesn't get any better than that: when your characters start telling you how things are going, and you're just along for the ride. Yes, I know it sounds like writers are crazy; that's because they are crazy—but usually only in very specific ways.

--- Quote from: IanClark on 04 Aug 2010, 23:39 ---Look at the final two panels of yesterday's strip (or would it be two days ago now? Whenever the latte machine exploded) and tell me there are no similarities.

--- End quote ---
Yes, now that you point it out, I do see it. It looks—you know, it almost looks like they are drawn by the same guy.

And on that note, that new print is delightful and d'lovely—Raoul want.

Schmorgluck:
Come to think of it, it's been a while since we last had an "anthro-pc antics" comic.

Not that I'm suggesting that Jeph should make tomorrow's comic one of those.
Not at all.
