You know, when I said folk punk, I wasnt thinking Celtic Punk, but you know, whatever floats your boat.

What does this even mean.
I take it that for you folk is a handy one-syllable way of saying 'acoustic guitars and someone who can't sing'?
Half the stuff in here is like beardy Americana that I wouldn't necessarily think you'd associate with folk music except tangentially, in the same way you might associate rock and blues.

My bad, man. I apologize for assuming that meant American folk influenced stuff.
I know very well "folk" means from all different cultures, not just American roots stuff, Im just an American so I'm kinda in that mindset, ya feel?
I grew up on Sevdalinka and Gypsy singers, but I just think of that as, well, that.

Folk is a method of transmission and a mode of composition more than anything else. I wouldn't really call a band 'folk punk' unless they were using trad tunes and words, doing old wobbly songs or something maybe, or at the very least engaging with, commenting on and building on the folk tradition. Not just they wanted to play punk but couldn't afford amplifiers.

So, Khar, you want to recommend something?

Ironically, from most of the folk punk I have heard classified as such, I would describe it exactly as this (not that I necessarily think that is a bad thing)
