I mean, I got pretty excited the first time I loaded up my mac with a couple hundred, but not that excited, or remotely in that way.

Hey, now you're treading on sensitive computer-artist-graphics-nerd ground here...

I've collected a few THOUSAND fonts, needing (I tell myself) to have the perfect one handy when I need it, for my maps-graphics-logo- work, t-shirt designs, free-form lettering, etc etc etc...  Fonts are art+meaning, they're sensual, dazzling, magnificent, amazing, some are even thrilling...  I can get lost in a good font book for hours, it's like tvtropes for typesetters.

I guess all those people who DON'T get excited about fonts just haven't seen all the good ones...

Font font font...

Is it cold in here?:
Fonts are calligraphy for computers.

Am I the only one who thinks Dora and Faye should stop treating Hanners as if she's twelve years old or developmentally delayed or something? She has a psychiatric disorder, yes, but she's made a lot of progress in living with it. And all this time she's been living on her own, supporting herself one way or another. She's not a fragile freakin' flower. I know Dora and Faye mean well, but they really need to back the hell off already and stop assuming she doesn't know how to make her own decisions. Can Ah get an Ay-men, brothers and sisters?

As for movies about fonts, how about the 1949 classic The Fontainhead, based on the bestselling novel by Ayn Ravie? Thank you, I'm here all week, try the (etc. etc.)

Not really, no. Mostly because there's no evidence that either Dora or Faye are doing that to Hanners. Dora was mostly upbraiding her brother for continuing (from her perspective) to be a lecherous douche and also 'stealing' one of her friends again, and Faye is currently giving advice in her normal adversarial style, the one she uses on everybody up to and including her own mother and sister. None of this is a statistically significant deviation from (their) normal behaviour.
