I DID kill an enderman the other night.
got a ton of experience and zero loot.
Pumpkin helmet and flame enchant sword = sneak up and ambush.

I tripped and fell into the Mojave Wasteland and can't seem to get out.  That's my excuse.

You need not a pumpkin helmet, just attack their feet without a flame sword.
The fire will make them teleport a lot, but if you attack their feet, they'll almost never teleport.
