Guitar gear: Future classics?
Wasteroo:
there's a Godin 5th Ave hanging in my store! strangely enough it is the model that doesn't have any pickups, so I'm not sure who'll buy it, but boy is it nice to look at

I also really don't like their superstrats
Something about the whole "HEY LOOK AT MY PICKUP ROUTS, THEY'RE SO UGLY" thing just isn't aesthetically appealing to me

You like pickup rings? Ew. that could probably qualify as deviancy.
valley_parade:
It just looks weird to have a humbucker directly mounted to the body. It looks unfinished, imo.
Then again, a mounting ring on top of a pickguard, wrrrragh I hate that shit. It's the only thing that's really holding me back from getting the blacktop Jazzmaster right now.
(well that and not having $450)

Deviancy from what? Liking ugly shit? Guilty, all counts, all charges.
NotAFanOfFenders:
I don't ever think I've met people who prefer pickup rings before. I didn't know you people existed beyond Les Paul fanboys. IMO pickup rings make guitars look cheap. I guess that's from seeing so many cheapos with them, though. It's the same reason I fucking hate sunburst strats with white pickguards. There are probably more strat-knockoffs in the world than people. I'ts come to the point where I can't even enjoy vintage sunburst strats. That, and the tiny frets, outdated pickups/trem and the blueswankers trying to imitate Hendrix/SRV/Clapton on them. Come to think of it, I know one of those blueswankers. Fuck.
TL;DR unnecessary rambly rant about guitspanks.
