That was taken near the start of the growth of the beard.  A few months later it looked like this:

Johnny, that is an excellent beard. I think anything down under the chin is safe from being deemed "neckbeard" until it starts to get onto vertical surface, anyway.

the only reason why neckbeard is shameful is when you dont have the rest of the beard to support it. when you do, never complain about neckbeard because shit is rad
