It's just hair, but it's just hair in a weird place. I can see chest hair, and maybe back hair (I have never had to interact with back hair though), but it's just a bit much for me when the front and the back try valiantly to join over the top :/

if i have to deal with the social norm being that my legs and armpits have to be shaved, i think it is okay to say i am not a huge fan of hairy back/shoulders

i could, but i also give a shit about the looks people give me in the summer when i wear shorts and have hairy legs. or how some people have said that they prefer my legs being shaved and yeah i will do that for that person, you know what i mean.
