Not quite. Marble cake is lots easier to do because you make the vanilla batter, pour in the chocolate batter, and swirl it a few times with a spoon or a knife. Zebra cakes depend on having the stripes, so there are like special techniques and maybe utensils for it and everything.

The technique is to just alternate putting dollops of the light and dark batter into the tin. I made it once with a marble cake box mix and it turned out perfectly. I don't know what special utensils would be needed, to be honest, because it's pretty simple.
