It's not just the use of the slashmark, I think.  "Brofriends" when glimpsed too quickly initially scans as "Boyfriends" so . . . yeah.  But hey, it's no less implausible a pairing than some have touted, and Marten has already dressed up as the Magical Love Gentleman, so all that's left is for Angus to dress up as Sousuke-kun and tada!

I have no OTPs, but I almost want Faye to hook up with Dale at some point just so we can have the portmanteau "Fale."
