Condolences.

Grognard:
the bereavement team from the vets delivered his ashes the other day.
they're in a large maple wood box, about 8" L x 6" W x 6" deep.  very classy.
the vet included a framed large lock of fur w/eulogy statement.

Protector, Guardian.
Clown, Eater of cameras.
Beloved Buddy.
BEAR.

I miss him so much.

Method of Madness:
I remember a few years ago when we put Rusty to sleep. I didn't have any classes until the evening, and my dad and I drove him to the vet where it happened. When I got home, I opened the door and instinctively started to call out "Rusty!" before realizing...right. One of the hardest days in my life.

But I never lost the memories of the years I had with him, and those are what got me through it :)

yep.

what is odd: BEAR was my -in-laws' dog.
But he had such personality. 
there were several times that the only reason I went to the in-law's was to play with BEAR.

MY dog, LOVEY, is getting older.
And I think she can sense my sadness.
