We love our pets!
Jimmy the Squid:
Why can't you take your ferrets with you? Is it because your new landlord is all "no pets allowed"?
We're not allowed to have pets, in fact I'm pretty sure most rental properties in Sydney at least don't allow pets. We have them anyway because fuck the law tenancy agreement.
Lunchbox:
I have had a secret cat for nearly 5 years. It is not hard to keep secret pets. I guess it would be harder if you didn't have anyone who will babysit when inspection time comes though.
nekowafer:
It's not so easy to have secret ferrets. At least for me, it's nearly impossible - mine dig at the carpet and poop everywhere. I have to steam clean the carpets every couple months. And then the cage I have is over 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide, and their toys are strewn all over the place.
Not everyone has those specific issues, but there's still hiding the cage and toys - it's not as easy as with a cat, where you have one small carrier and one litter box, and lots of small catnip and chase toys that can be put in a drawer somewhere.
I am curious though, is that why? I'm glad he gets to go with your dad :)
Lines:
It's easier with cats that don't chew on things. My roommates' cat (the black and white one I've posted pics of) likes to chew on our blinds, so there's little bite marks on all the ones she can reach. But we're allowed to have pets and with all the crap that goes on in our building, I bet bite marks on old blinds that should really be replaced are not on their list of things to worry about.
FIXDIX:
My girlfriend and our Basenji puppy Ponyo. This was taken when he was around 3-4 months, he's 8 months now but I don't have any really good pics of him right now. He's generally a rad little dog as long as he's kept entertained and not chewing on shiz he shouldn't be.
