Why the ferret hate? I was thinking a guinea pig, rabbit or ferret... good suggestion Ankh, but I want something fuzzy

Some of it is misunderstandings of the ferret's biting. There's still a lot of myth going around that ferrets will bite and attack babies and such. The big things though is that they smell and they can really easily find a quarter sized hole that goes into a wall or duct and suddenly shit's a problem.

Ferrets wouldn't be considered and animal that doesn't often need time out of their cage. They should get at the least an hour or two out per day. And they can be destructive little things. If you have questions about ferrets, I can help you out. Since you'll be in my general area I can even suggest a couple shelters, should you decide that's what you want.

Seriously though, rabbits are pretty cool. You just gotta find one that doesn't hate hands. They do exist and they rock.
