I used to have a dog who liked to taste kittens. He didn't want to hurt them, or bite them. Just lick and slobber on them.

Percy meanwhile has been stealing bottles of spices from the kitchen...

My cat Sophie once brought a frog in from the pond. She didn't want to hurt it, she just wanted to mother it. The frog didn't like that very much. The dog realised that the frog was in distress and stood guard over it until we'd managed to rescue it.
GarandMarine:
Poor frog, not very well equipped a creature to be a kitten surrogate to a house cat.
Barmymoo:
In fairness to Sophie, she did attempt to become a suitable parent to the frog by leaping into the pond, but then suddenly realised she couldn't swim and panicked. And then had to undergo the humiliation of a bath. She was not the brightest sandwich in the knife box.
