In my opinion they're going for an effect here (the car is going so fast), but it's failing and just ends up looking stupid.

The show is mildly interesting, but mostly devoid of the personality that makes actual Top Gear fun to watch.

Jalopnik is full of idiots.

Ozymandias:
Is it? I don't care about cars too much so I don't read it but I did notice their review of the show so I was curious.

i don't trust the oppinion of anyone i cannot debate with, cuz they are all biased or wrong. most movies i have seen and liked got bad reviews, most tv show that i like get canceled while stuff i hate like american idol and dancing with the stars just get bigger.

In general, yeah. They're rather new to the Gawker media empire so they might just be finding their footing, but they seem to be a melding of Gawker.tv and Deadspin, which is to say, they post a lot of rather pointless videos and have a ultra-conservative commenter base (but it's all got a gearhead bent).

I'm sure they can do a good thing once in awhile. Even the weaker babygawkers do.
