At least my stupid face doesn't think Sam Beam making hip hop is a good idea

I'll try listening to anything if people won't shut up about it enough. Although I can pretty much guarantee I won't like it.

EDIT: Actually, I like this way way more than, like, The-Dream, Lil' B and, like, everybody else mentioned in the Swag thread combined. I was prepared for some extremely retarded bullshit when I saw the title was a literal fucking hashtag but uh, this guy is actually attempting to make rhymes and rhythms and the beat makes me feel so nice. I could believe that people genuinely enjoy this. I still don't believe that people enjoy Lil' B for real.

scarred:
i haven't heard this alleged hip hop song but walking far from home was fucking great

David_Dovey:
Do you know what would've made "Walking Far From Home" better? Just letting the song be a song instead of a bleepy-bloopy gimmick. The fact that  "Walking Far From Home" doesn't suck gigantic ass (unlike the other tune on the single) is a testament to Sam Beam's skill as a crafter of melodies, not to his ill-advised new direction. It somehow managed to be good despite all attempts to fuck it up. I have a feeling most of the new material won't be so lucky.

Also I just wanna mention again that it feels pretty gratifying to have enjoyed that G-Side track. As much as I spend an awful lot of time being an insufferable cock about stuff on these boards I still derive more pleasure from getting jazzed about things that are good than shitting on things that are bad. I especially enjoy having my expectations subverted.

KharBevNor:
For balance, I thought that G-Side track was monstrously boring.

The whole record is in the M/F thread and the swag thread and it's pretty incredible in my opinion. The Slow Motion Soundz/Block Beataz Alabama scene is really awesome, the beats especially. I just love how spacey and disoriented the beats sound, spacey without being pointless like Lil' B gets sometimes, and still being able to go really hard from time to time.  Like this is the first record where the flow actually lives up to the incredible production that Block Beataz do. You should definitely check out the record if you liked the track.

--- Quote ---Yeah, were from the south. Its no different from where you live. We hustle; we still chase dreams. Its just that your Benzes and Beamers are our Chevys and Lacs. We got pimps. Ours just wear creased jeans and Air Max. And in mouths down here, ice grills are str8 gold. Slow Motion means that while the whole world is racing by at 100 mph, we are traveling at a steady 50. Enjoying successful longevity while observing everything along the way- learning from our mistakes. ..

Like how can you not love that.
