Fun Stuff > BAND
Hey guys 2011 is a year with music too.
michaelicious:
Show off.

The new FOUND album is pretty good http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/found-factorycraft
If you don't know FOUND, they're a band from Edinburgh who used to do a lot of experimental music, but have steadily been moving to a poppier sound, this album is pretty much the end result of that. They've also won a BAFTA for making a Cybraphon - an autonomous emotional robot band. Definitely check them out.

Agreed. I've been listening to it and the new Pains of Being Pure at Heart album all day trying to write reviews.
TPOBPAH have a song on the album where I was certain they were covering Just Like Honey, but then they could just be poking fun at comparisons? I don't know. The rest of the album is an absolute belter though.
SWOON! at My Gravitas:
40 Watt Sun (new band of the singer from Warning) have released their debut album The Inside Room. It's epic, depressive doom, absolutely breathtaking. I will likely put up the album in wink, cough sometime today, but for now here is a little taste
Actually, another fantastic doom record has been released recently, SubRosa's No Hope For the Mighty Ones, on Profound Lore. Short description is Ozzy-era Sabbath with lady vocalists and violin, but that doesn't really do justice to the strength and emotion of their arrangements (youtube video).

So if I were to listen to it, I wouldn't be suicidal out of boredom?
