I have no music to share. I actually have no ability to record music, I'd like to change this - is a POD necessary, or can you go straight from your amp to your pc?

Sometimes you can go straight from your amp to PC if you have the right outputs on your amp and inputs on your computer, but it's not exactly the best mode of recording.
