The soundtrack is amazing, the animation is fantastic (stylish but doesn't turn me off in the way a lot of anime does), the storyline is compelling, it's not 400 years long so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time getting into it, and it manages to have both dark and funny moments without the wrenching tonal shifts that make me hate Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood more every time I watch it.
It's just fucking awesome, and heavily reminiscent of Transmetropolitan.
