I like it, but then again it's my first daughter's name.  So I'm prejudiced.

However, it's silly to give them anything other than reference names at this point.  The forum more or less came up with PseuDora, which is pretty lame, but is based on the alternate CoD idea.

It's as good as anything else we come up with, since Jeph will have the final word name.

Just my little voice in wilderness against leaving it "secret bakery girl"/PseuDora in case Jeph was checking out the forum, which it seems he does.

As for the name I am also biased--two of the nicest women I know are Em's including the godmother to our children.

After name the next big question is how many units of Faye is Secret Bakery Girl/PseuDora :P

  • "Pseudora" - If she is, indeed, Indian (the subcontinent, not Native American), then perhaps her name should be "Sitara" ("Star" in Hindi).
  • "Faye/Tai" - Jasmine. Similar to "Tasman", which is a combination of "Great" (Tai) and "Faith" (Faye).
  • "Alternate Marten" - I'm gonna go with Aaron. Since Marten is a derivative of the name of the Roman god of War (Mars), Aaron would be the Greek equivalent (Ares).
  • "FakeAngus" - Ferguson. "Man of Strength" in Irish; similar to "One Strength" in Gaelic.

Interesting name etymology, except that Aaron is a Hebrew name (you may have heard of this Moses character - he had an older brother by that name).  The actual etymology is here.

Or even etymology,  to avoid upsetting the insects.

Strange, I thought it was a fake Steve.  In this comic, in the 2nd and 3rd panels, they kind of have the "you should ask her out" "I don't wanna ruin the friendship" conversation in a more wordy and roundabout way.  There may also be other examples I can't think of.

I cant recall, however, if Angus and Marten ever had such a conversation.

The Angus connection is more physical than anything, between the slight frame, the shaggy hair (as in his early appearances), and the glasses.  But yeah, he's more rhetorically a Steve.  Just like th4e big guy's rhetorically Marten, but looks nothing like him!

It doesn't have to be spelled "Aaron." Just as Marten's name is spelled differently than usual, his counterpart's name could be spelled abormally too and still sound the same. Aren? Aron? A subtle, yet noticeable change; just like Marten instead of Martin.

"Oh Clarissa, how I miss ya"

Sorry.  >.>

Edit - a quick lookup shows the song is actually "Oh Karissa How I Miss Ya".  How odd, it always sounded like Clarissa to me...
