The only one I ever officially complained about was the guy who had an animated gif from an old movie where a person's eyeball was being cut. Even though I knew it was just special effects, even scrolling by it real fast just icked me out to the point of nausea.

i have been on this forum for like four years and still have never had an avatar.

i like it when regulars have the same avatar forever and then i can scroll through posts and know who's talking because the avatar in my peripheral vision links up with that person in my brain and i can read through conversations much more smoothly. and in the same vein, when two people have avatars that look too much alike, i get really confused because people are posting things and it does not line up at all with their usual posting style and i'm like "why is person A trying to sound all like person B" and it just causes me unnecessary distress in my forum-reading.

i think i read this forum too much.
