So we are now going to play the game REVERSE HIPSTER
Christophe:
So we're all relatively acquainted with the classic hipster stereotype, where someone will state that they've seen a band/movie/whatever back when it had credibility or before it got too "mainstream". Reverse Hipster is the opposite of that. Let me make an example:
--- Quote from: Hipster ---I saw the Pixies right after they recorded Surfer Rosa.
--- End quote ---
--- Quote from: Reverse Hipster ---I saw them when they reunited!
--- End quote ---
--- Quote from: Reverse Hipster II ---I saw them when they were on their Doolittle re-release tour!
--- End quote ---
And so on and so forth. You can get into things like "Man, Santana was so good when he got Rob Thomas to sing on that one song" or "I liked Weezer when they were got good, right around Make Believe" or "I was into ...And You Will Know us By The Trail Of Dead when they started getting bad reviews".
To make things interesting, every time you post a Reverse Hipster quotation, you have to provide a subject for another poster to do their next quote on. If you feel particularly inspired and post a bunch of them, try anyway to leave another subject for someone else to go on at the end of your post. It can be bands, or movies, or books, or people, or anything else within that same general thing. You can go with stuff that can be in or out of line with what "hipsters" would be into.
To make things easy on the get-go, I'll put a list of starting subjects for the game of Reverse Hipster. Or you can be a brave soul and come up with something yourself. Good luck!

My favourite R.E.M. album has to be Reveal. I remember when I first saw these guys it was back in 2008, Stipke is a fantastic percussionist.

To my knowledge, the only Liz Phair song I have ever heard is "Why Can't I", from her self-titled fourth album, the one where she went all commercial and worked with the same guys who produced for Avril Lavigne. I heard it on commercial radio. I thought it was alright.
This has the added advantage of being true!
