Man, now I want to do this, but I hate my voice. Let me have another drink and maybe I'll give it a whirl. That will increase the chances of there being burping in my recording, though.

I get massively self-concious when recording my own voice thus rendering it wholly flat and accentless.

This is page 199 of Raymond Chandler's 'Farewell, My Lovely'. I haven't read it before, so sorry that the reading is a bit stilted. There were actually many interim takes where I laughed at stupid things Ben was saying, or tried to read a passage and didn't know what something was, but I figured one stupid outtake was enough, especially seeing as most of the others involved me swearing at him.
