But America is the only place where it isn't pronounced pee-can. Surely the reverse would be true.

Harry: Nope, we still say pea-nut. I guess I have found some stuff in my research to support the different pronunciations.

Spluff: It seems to be a typical perception of southern americans that we do, in fact,  say "pee-can". It is a stereotype that I have always found ludicrous because it isn't even a true stereotype by the definition of "stereotype".


I am just gonna call them pacanas from now on. There is only one way that word is pronounced.

Brits and Aussies would pronounce "pacanas" different from N. Americans too (I'm assuming you basically mean it to rhyme with banana)
