All in all I think it'd be sweeter if the impetus for a mission trip to Japan had never arisen.

Come on guys.  Pretend you wouldn't think "whoa, fucking sweet" if your friend told you one day "so a friend is paying for me to go with him to aid disaster relief, I'll be there for two weeks."

The opportunity to help people is indeed, fucking sweet. The fact that the people need to be helped, not so much, but that's a completely different issue.
