The H in IMHO, I use "humble" in the most sarcastic sense. It's my opinion and you are damn well entitled to it.

A "classic work" is, as Mark Twain Sam Clemmons stated, "A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read."

Whether the classic is good, bad or indifferent, it doesn't matter.

As long as the reference forces a new connection to form in the reader's mind.

Personally, I read "Dune" many years ago and didn't really enjoy it. Waaaayyy to sexist and elitist. I prefer Star Trek TOS and Star Wars IV. [Is my GOM  showing?]
