I totally agree. Don't bother. Enjoy each for what they are.
    - In xkcd we don't really care about the characters. Mr. Munroe does humor from a completely different (and wonderfully twisted) standpoint
    - In QC it is all character driven. The interactions between them is a source of humor and pathos.

As far as International Awards go....

Doing what you enjoy and it puts money in the bank is ABSOLUE PROOF of sucsess!

Peer reviews are for scientists.

I do.  Along with about 25 other comics.  But you can only vote for one in that poll!

Yeah, well this isn't a peer review.  It's an extroadinarily bad form of a popularity contest with the most biased form of sampling in existence!

But if you wanna participate, go for it.  I can't decide in the one category I know, and I know nada of the other categories.

And I think Jeph doesn't care!

Akima:
If Jeph wins, can we expect a guest spot in QC for Dan Dare? I mean, has anyone ever heard of any other Eagle comic character?

pwhodges:
I had a subscription to The Eagle as a young child in the 1950s.
