What a thoroughly depressing and brutally honest meta-episode, goddamn those last few minutes

I wouldn't have known to check it out without this thread, haven't watched in years!  Thanks. Definitely a good way to go out if they do so this way (although I read they still have 7 episodes left...)

could do a mini series to conclude the show.  & episodes is more than enough to either fix it or end the series.

Parker and Stone are on contract until 2013.

Probably not ending.

then perhaps a major shift in how they do the show?  And whose to say they dont pull a David Chapelle?  As for the contract, I only read they are contracted to do 14 episodes in 2011.  Havnt heard about the 2013 thing.

I dont know but this is just very weird.  The episode was so depressing at the end.

I've been hearing mounting criticism that this seasons episodes haven't been as good as past ones

I thought a few episodes where pretty good from this season.  City Sushi was by far the greatest episode I have seen from then in a while.  The twist is so over the top it makes M. Night look like a fledgling film student.

Who knows. They could be setting it on a two year death spiral or they could forget about it next week. Maybe we'll be lucky and they're just using it as an excuse to write Randy out of the show. Personally I'd be ok with that because I haven't been able to watch an episode heavily featuring him in years due to how mindless he's written. It used to be funny but the last few years it's just been retarded.

I googled the question and the first review of the episode that I found was that while it seems worrying that they made the episode seem really bleak, that perhaps they were simply poking fun at other major shows doing the same thing, having ultra dramatic cliffhangers only to end up going right back to business at the start of the next season or some such. On the other hand Book of Mormon is doing really well, and is expected to sweep the Tonys, so maybe, maybe.

I can't remember the last episode of South Park I watched.... I could always watch an episode or two, realise "Wait....its the same stuff. Why am I watching this?", swtich off and forget about it for some time.

Guess I can carry on forgetting about it then.

The episode was surprisingly enjoyable. Thus far I've only thought HumancentiPad and T.M.I. were the only other worthy episodes this season.

I really hope if they're not ending they at least stick with the changes. It's good to see some shaken status quo.
