That's only if you don't take into account the trucks and the trains and the ships that bring the beans from wherever they grow to NoHo MA, which is not exactly known as one of the great coffee producing regions of the world.

True - but she's concerned with the beans themselves at this point, and the transport and processing would presumably apply similarly to any alternative.

So to avoid contributing to the local greenhouse problem too much we should drink only locally produced beer/ale (presuming of course that your locality can grow the appropriate grains)?
