Yes, all of that we can agree on.
The significance of 'semi-canon' is still pretty vague in my mind. The author waved it on, yes. And ...? He thought it was hilarious? It was pretty funny, I agree. :)

Well, Jeph's "waved on" plenty of guest strip stuff we know has been contradicted by later storyline, so why not accept the guest strips as a form of fanfic and enjoy them on their other merits?
Or consider them Star Trek novels (characterization and backstory all over the map) instead of Star Wars novels (under such tight approval by Lucas that, if you see it between book covers, it's canon)?
Well, anyway: Corsetto QC! This reader is happy. Also: Forest o'Dildoes and related items is funny. Also also: Worry Hat ought to be standard equipment on a hazmat suit. Also also also: Don't know Corsetto and wouldn't know her if she walked up and kicked me in the knee, but I can imagine her giggling madly as she lettered the words "space rubber."
