Your location suggests to me that you are a mathematician, or at least in a field that uses maths heavily.  You may have noticed that this is not uncommon around here these days.

Actually, I think it's a bit simpler than that.  Very few of the boards go back beyond 2007.  I don't think irb's post count reset, I think it was the victim of the sloughing of old threads from the board.  Since he hasn't posted since 2006, and the threads he posted in back then are now gone, he had no posts! 

Soooo...... welcome back, irb.  I'd say you were missed, but I'm a newbie by comparison and wouldn't know!

I have discovered (when killing spam, originally) that your post count does not decrease if some of your posts are deleted.
