Tom:
I had vegan friends in high school and none of them were strident and respected my love of bacon as I did theirs of mung beans and alfalfa sprouts. On the other hand I've met plenty of the other kinds of vegan/vegetarians at university. Not everyone has a solid understanding and reasons for what they do. I posted it because I found her comments ironic, I also hope that was done on purpose.

Tom:
Urrgh, I feel like that first sentence is all "I'm not racist; one of my best friends is black!""

Jace:
Last part of the second panel and third panel raise good/ironic point. First panel sets up age old joke.

People ideally have agency within our society though so it's still a total cop-out rather than something that shows the thought process is outright childish and inconsistent. I don't have an issue with people working for a living. It's when you start keeping "your" workers against their will that I have a problem.
