I am totally pro-kid-leashing, as long as the kid's okay with it. And those backpacks with tails are adorable.

Leashing kids is VERY handy, especially when you're out walking a bunch of them for the neighbors.

I mean, um...

Seriously though, it is quite handy...you can wrap it around your wrist, enabling you to hold onto a bag or something as well. It gives them a semblance of freedom, but keeps them from running into the street or a windowless van.

Got a leash for my older daughter right after she started walking.  She's 23 now.

Course, she's also living at home.  Maybe we should take it off...

Oreo creme makes me nauseous. it's waaaay too sweet. I just scrape it off whole and leave a little pile of them and eat the cookie.

Oh jeez I am firmly at the other end of the Oreo spectrum. When I found Mega Stuff Oreos and made them into double deckers, that was basically heaven. The things were like half an inch high.

Then why buy Oreos? aren't there cookies like that without the creme?

I'd still lift it. Why should I be ashamed of being curious? Even if the picture looked non-risqué but was partially covered, I'd want to see what's hidden. I'd also hope there's an equivalent in the male's toilets.

He ran past while someone was taking a panoramic photo where you move your phone and it (apparently) takes and compiles lots of shots. I've also seen a picture with a cat who walked the other direction and got all stretched out.

Global porn search habits.
Apparently Venezuelans love Nina Hartley and gay porn.

I also find it amusing that hentai is more popular in Mississippi than in Japan.

The first thing I noticed was how 'ebony' makes it onto the list in most states south of the Mason Dixon, and few above.  I tried to console myself that it was demographics related (African-american's make up a larger percentage of the population in the south than the north) but comparing position on list to percent of population selecting 'African-American' on the Census, geography seems to be a stronger correlation.  I tried to make a graph to tell, but apparently I *do* need to take that data visualization class, because I sepnt 20 min and could not get a graph which showed the data how I wanted it (not that it was showing someting which disproved my theory, but that I couldn't get it to use the values the way I wanted to make a readable graph).

Data set:

What I saw that made me suspect geography:
New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan  and  Illinois,  all have African-Americans as 13-16 % of their populations.  New York, New Jersey and Michigan are in the north and 'ebony does not appear on their lists.  Florida, Arkansas and Tennessee are in the south and 'ebony' is number 6, 1,and 6, respectively.  Illinois has 'ebony' at number 10, though they are north of the line.

Do you have a hypothesis? I saw those numbers too but didn't linger on them. Can you infer much if you don't know the race of the person who's making the choices?

I'm having a little trouble following your results and your conclusion. As you say, it's hard to show this kind of data. I would order the states by percentage of African American population, and then highlight key examples of where it does or does not correlate to a high instance of searing for "ebony" porn.

If I read your post right, you're saying that people are specifically looking for pornography featuring people who look like them, so more black people = more black porn. You certainly see this if you start looking at the international results: Japan, for example, has the word "Japan" or Japanese" in almost every result. The same held true in several other countries to lesser extents. Here, however, you seem to be suggesting that the Data doesn't really support they hypothesis. Is that right?

If that's the case, I can see two alternate hypotheses that could be considered:

One is that people are more likely to see people of other races as undesirable in a more recently segregated part of the country, and so black people in the south are more likely to want to see black people in their porn then black people in the north do. I'm not sure this holds up because there is no tendency for southern states to specify ethnicity otherwise, though presumably white searchers might find it unnecessary because the majority of most searches will come up white.

The second possibility is that white people in the south who desire sex with black people often do not get to pursue them publicly. In this vein, it is notable that so called "bible belt" states are more likely then non-bible-belt states to have "gay" in the top 10.

The third possibility is that the very taboo-ness of it makes it more exciting for some searchers. There's nothing terribly taboo about mixing races in some parts of the country, but there is still a taboo about it in the south. I have a friend who went to school in rural Kentucky, and to hear him tell it, every time he had sex with a white girl, she would make some comment about how much it would piss off her father.
