I don't understand this. It's great to love where you live, but that hardly should mean you never want to leave, even on vacation.
Also, I don't think anyone should ever be incurious.

I always love coming back home again and would never want to live anywhere else except England (having lived in three other countries already). I do like travelling, but if I could never travel again for some weird reason, the only thing that would make me sad about that would be that I couldn't go visit friends in other countries.

OED cites it from the sixteenth century (though then meaning careless or indifferent, which is closer to the Latin).
