Questionable Content: The Animated Series
pendrake:
1. @Kugai... Kevin Conroy can never be anyone but DCAU Batman for me. On the positive, though, he probably is the best Batman (voice-)actor of them all.
2. Likewise, Mark Hamill is the best Joker voice of them all, no one expresses the crazy/insanity of the Clown Prince of Crime like Hamill does. But I agree he could probably do some variance for a QC character as DSL has suggested.
3. Pauley Perrette probably would be in the "too expensive" category at the moment with NCIS' current popularity [and /GibbsSmack Deadlywonky 8-) ]. But yes, she could voice Raven Pritchard. Another strong choice for roles would be Dora.
4. A point I had not considered when I started this thread was how we each "hear" the QC cast in our minds. I suppose someone would have to ask Jeph for his QC Dump about how it hears his creations' voices in his mind. Personally, I think Hannelore has a higher-pitch voice in keeping with her psychoses, but also still being the cute person everyone enjoys, thus why I considered Jewel Staite.
5. A variant of The Simpsons' or Futurama's animation style could work, but not the exact style itself (I just cannot see the QC animated cast that yellow-skinned...). Personally I think using the DCAU animation style would work better for QC:TAS, if going for a longer-term series.
DSL:
Jeph has, in his Tumblr, expressed his thoughts on voices for some of his characters. Faye and Dora were characters from a game, Pintsize sounded like Orson Welles in his head (!?), and "Hannelore is squeaky."
Is it cold in here?:
ISTR him saying that Dora sounded like Jane Lane from Daria.
DSL:
You're right. The game character, he said, had a sort of deadly monotone he imagined for Faye.
Kugai:
I suddenly have this urge to hear Sven voiced by Patrick Stewart.
