The M/F Thread 2009: The Quickening
ruyi:
I admit I haven't been following this thread. I mean, I've been watching it, but I haven't downloaded much from it.
Gonna share something I've been listening to lately though:

sample songs: "A Night In Tunisia", "Cry Me A River"
An excellent studio album from when she was at her prime vocally.
Also was thinking about sharing Jo Stafford's Jo + Jazz (sample songs: "Daydream" "I've Got The World On A String") but it's .wma; if there's any interest, I can upload it it later.
Koremora:
Has anyone listened to that Broken Bells album? How is it?

This band is essentially the marriage of modern desert rock with 60's-70's psychadelic rock and acid jazz. I'm too lazy to go get a couple of reviews for this, but it's probably one of the best things I've picked up this entire year.
I share it with you guys because, well, Merry Christmas. This thread rules and you guys have brought a lot of really excellent music to my attention. Thanks, all.

I posted Vol. 1 of that months and months ago, but I didn't have the other two, and I'm really happy more attention in being paid to this band ... they're fucking EXCELLENT.
Basically, FUCK YEAH! You rule!
PS: I have their self-titled if you want it. I think I upped it even longer ago than SS V.1 but I can re-up it pretty easy.
