The M/F Thread 2009: The Quickening
fatty:
2008 saw me finding a sweet spot for skip hop in conversation with elcapitan. While he is off in India, there doesn't seem to be that much of it on this thread, so I thought I might share some new stuff. Some really good stuff on this thread already, is Urthboy and Drapht.

Can't go past TZU, love this album.

I have "Great Old Ones" too, if anybody's interested.

So, to reiterate, Pretty Lights is sick.
I feel like it is only fitting to respond with dance/electronica/downtempo/party music of equal dopaliciosity. This thread is in need of ...
Beats Antique - Tribal Derivations

I don't feel like digging up a quote. Basically, think about what would happen if a subwoofer and a belly dancer had kids. Those kids would be these songs. Some dance music makes your head bob, some makes your feet move ... this stuff makes your torso shudder and twist, and listening to it essentially raises your sex appeal in and of itself.
I can't remember if Clintaga (who introduced me to Beats Antique) upped their more recent album "Collide" on this thread or not ... I can't find it in any case, so I'm still looking for it. Either way, if you've heard "Collide," this album is a bit less glitched out and the belly-dance vibe is a thicker.
