I'd upload Sunset Mission (perhaps their best album?) but for some reason mediafire isn't letting me. I keep trying and it keeps saying I'm not a pro-user or some such nonsense. Anyway, someone asked for more of their stuff a bit back after I offered but since it's not working you'd be doing everyone a favor, methinks, by making that album available for all!

sean:
You could also just use megaupload. If there is a limit on that site, it is REALLY high.

I have been listening to quite a bit of post-rock lately. So I guess I will warn you that if you aren't a fan of tremolo picking you probably should just skip this post. Here are three albums by some pretty young bands that I hope will soon gain the recognition they deserve.

These two bands are for people who like a little more rock in their post-rock. They take a pretty direct, no-nonsense approach. Henry Gale get right down to business and play smart, muscular songs that sometimes even verge on being a little playful. Lights At Sea have equal parts rock but tend to inject their music with a little more drama and broodiness. Their drums sound so excellent.

This album is my main reason for making this post. It is called I have Supped Full on Horrors. It is by a band called Romance of Young Tigers. They take an entirely different approach than the other two bands. They seem to be more influenced by ambient music and maybe even by drone (Sadly, I don't know much about drone so please correct me if I am wrong). This albums is gorgeous and spacious. Romance of Young Tigers don't use any percussion at all and it gives the music a sort of weightless feeling, like it is just floating around unanchored. I think they are the best band I have discovered in quite awhile.

Oh, I forgot to mention I read about all these bands here.

sean:
Oh man Michael that blog is incredible. They have Age Sixteen posted. They are amazing (I am uploading their demo right now.)

Edit: BAM!

Age Sixteen - Spring 2008 Demo

Age Sixteen is one of those nifty emo/scremo/ bands from Baltimore. If there was a such term as melodic scremo, as opposed to emoviolence, Age Sixteen would fit the bill perfectly. Their guitar parts almost feel catchy. However, their music is still very powerful, loud, nuts, crazy, and all that good stuff you would expect from a scremo band. They are pretty fuckin' wonderful. And I am seeing them play next Saturday. FUCK YEAH! Also they have an LP due out next month so if you like this demo you should probably pick it up!

Catacombs:
Wow, that is a great post.  I've been on a little post-rock hiatus, so this is a great way to get back into it.  I'm having trouble downloading the last album however, unless mediafire is just acting shitty.
