Shadic:
Oh noes, here I was about to mention that Marten had Penelope twice in his phone and no Hanners, and he already fixed it.  :psyduck:

Speedy man, that Jeph.

Tova:
I can't shake the feeling that we've had the "which Charlie Brown characters are the cast?" conversation already, but a quick search only came up with a use of the precise phrase "wishy-washy Charlie Brown" and I'm too lazy to keep searching.

I can't think of an entirely appropriate choice for Schroeder, because as far as interaction with the rest of the cast was concerned, the main theme I recall was his indifference to Lucy's affections (being far more interested in Beethoven). I can't think of an even remotely close analog in QC (assuming we've already chosen Faye as Lucy).

Edit: whoa, new comic already. I suppose this may well result in another round of posts being grumpy at Marten, but honestly, I am too busy laughing at today's comic to care.

Tormuse:
And shouldn't Marigold be Pigpen?  ;)  (Also, I think Raven would be Sally)

As for Marten's feelings, I've been reading a good book on the subject of depression lately.  Sometimes, the things that are "supposed" to make you happy are what make you saddest of all.  The thought pattern goes something like this:  "That should have made me happy.  Why didn't it make me happy?  What's wrong with me?"  The more you dwell on it, the worse you feel.  The same goes for feelings like anxiety and frustration.  Negative feelings have a strong tendency to feed themselves the more you dwell on them.  The people who are the most depressed are the ones that over-think their feelings because even minor sadness that most people would shrug off makes them plunge into depression.  (There's more to it than that, of course, but that's what Marten seems to be doing here)

Is it cold in here?:
Jeph did say, though, that Marten's problem is not depression.

akronnick:
Shit!

I think Padma may be trying to squeeze in as much OMG sexaytime with Marten before she leaves.

I approve of his decision!
