OK, so first time poster, long timer lurker, yadda yadda...
So yeah, previous discussions/knowledge not withstanding, Dora is probably realizing just how hard Marten has fallen for Padma, and senses the potential of much turmoil on the horizon. She would, after all, be one of the best at reading his non-verbals and tone. Dora could be remembering mopey Marten from their breakup, or even further back to Marten's original cross country shenanigans and why he moved East in the first place.
So if she is, does she step in and try to "save" him as a friend? Does she organize the CoD crew for wacky hijinx in order to intervene? Does she sit back and wait to be the friend/shoulder to mope on when Padma does leave? Etc., Etc..
Lots of different ways it could go, if Dora gets more involved in the ongoing plot. Or not, if it's just a one-off.

Marten (Glaring at Dora): "You have made an enemy today."
Disappears from the Comic and changes his name to Captain Black - and begins terrible and protracted revenge against Dora and her decedents.

You know, you raise an interesting point. However, I believe Dora in her current state would be unlikely to intervene. For one, she probably isn't sure how to handle the situation, given that Marten was likely the boyfriend she was emotionally attached to the most, ever (I am speculating here a bit, but considering all her previous boyfriends were jackasses, I would say that's an educated guess.) On the other hand, she might not want to intervene, lest Marten thinks that she is meddling in his stuff again (as a parallel to her controlling behavior which eventually led to their breakup.)

Actually, that could be an interesting scenario:
He starts thinking about returning to Cali - to the point where he's buying the plane tickets.
Dora angrily tells him he's a fool to go, but that if it makes him happy, pursue it.
And he has an epiphany as he's at the airport.
He disappears from the strip for a while. Everyone assumes he's gone to California.
Then, one day, he shows up at CoD.
"I never left. I just didn't have any money for the cab ride home."

For some reason, Raven's "Oh noes!" is my favourite moment of today's comic. It just seems so appropriate for her character to say that!
