--- Quote from: Madmartigan on 03 Feb 2012, 13:00 ---Holo ponies?  :| :-D

Marten should ask for holo dinosaur.

Station: No, last time we tried that, we somehow summoned a tiny one that made espresso. Odd.

Didn't want to save that for the next Caption thread?

--- Quote from: Is it cold in here? on 03 Feb 2012, 21:31 ---RenewMan, would you be willing to add your observations about uniforms to the QC wiki?

--- End quote ---

Haha! Sure, I'd be delighted to add my commentary. Also, I apologize for my outburst about uniforms. When you've been brainwashed as long as I have about rules and regulations, one becomes a little irate to see things misinterpreted as such. Of course this is QCverse where everything isn't going to make sense. I'll learn to remember hat next time I have a spaz attack.  :-D

--- End quote ---

Great; you can add your commentary to Lt. Potter's entry! :D

--- Quote from: Mr_Rose on 03 Feb 2012, 15:22 ---As for Hanners and her mysterious ability to get what she wants from Station and Spaceship, I don't think she does technically have command authority…it's just that disobeying her is unthinkable to the AIs, much as it would be to a large chunk of the forums.
--- End quote ---
Hannelore is their princess. Trivialities like chain of command doen't come into it.
--- Quote from: Kugai on 03 Feb 2012, 14:59 ---I wonder if one of Hanners heros is Ellen Ripley?   :-D
--- End quote ---
Isn't she everyone's hero?

--- End quote ---

Nope. Don't like horror films, never seen it.

--- End quote ---
The second one's more of an action film than a horror film.  The first one's the horror film (and the far better one, but that's a discussion for another place.)

Mr_Rose:
Alien is an excellent suspense thriller/horror flick
Aliens is an excellent action thriller with horror overtones
They are both at or near the top of their respective games

Which one is "better" is and always will be subjective and based mostly on which genre you prefer.
What they are definitely both, is iconic cultural artefacts.
It is a pity the third one was so poorly received that they never made another one, isn't it?

Method of Madness:
To be fair, the Bourne movies took almost nothing from the books they were based on, and that arguably made them significantly better.
