Weird dreams you've had
Loki:
Three weird dreams today.
In one, I publicly posted a video of me where I was autoeroticising to some other video to Facebook. It was meant as a PM to my girlfriend (which isn't even on Facebook IRL). After like five minutes, I realized my mistake, but by then it already had 6 likes and 11 comments (my brain loves remembering numbers). I am pretty sure I don't even have that many people that receive my updates. I deleted it and then was basically hoping noone had downloaded it. I remember posting some other comments; one of them was offering monetary rewards for related stuff, for example, 1 grand to whoever came up with a way to make sure this video... wasn't leaked anywhere or something. I am not sure. And 100 dollars (strangely, not EUR) for something else.
I remember waking up thinking about how stupid that dream was. I am not sure if I really woke up or my brain was just thinking I did.
Anyway, my second dream was far more interesting. I "decided" to go to what I have now named the Carnival of Dreams. My dreamcanon was that I had already visited it in my dreams before, but now that I am awake, I am relatively sure that never happened.
The Carnival of Dreams works like this: it irregularly comes into town, noone knowing where it comes from or where it goes. The general consensus is that it somehow predicts the future, or reads from your unconscious, or does some other stuff which is supposed to be impossible. You can ask it questions, and it will lead you into relevant rooms, which can also change and play the typical "this room certainly wasn't behind this door before" game. No two rooms are supposed to be ever the same. (All pretty cliche, I know.) You are allotted one hour in the carnival. Some of the rooms or attractions have additional prices listed which were quite high (I specifically remember 10€ and 30€ for something), but there was no way to pay them, and I don't think anyone did.
This time, I was guided through the carnival by Death (ie the grim reaper in the black cloak). I say this time, because, again according to my dreammemories of the place, I had not had a guide the first time I had been there. I knew Death would guide me to the places I wanted to go, but not enter them with me.
Warning: This is going to be long, as the dream was full of details. I spoilered it for your convenience.
(click to show/hide)I remembered a room where I had been the first time where people where you had to flip levers and press buttons till you got all of them pressed. You were supposed to always press only one at once and you "won" if all of the buttons and levers were down, but if you pulled some levers down, others would go up etc. I remembered I got the puzzle eventually by pulling down one lever with my hands while keeping the other pressed with my foot.
Anyway, I drew a breath and told Death that this time I knew where I had to go and to take me to "the room where you can fix yourself". Death checked some of the doors, eventually finding the room with the levers I just described, and closing the door again. I could see it from beneath his arm, so I insisted to go there. I got an impression like a reluctant frown, as if to say "you can only visit each room once." Then he opened the door again. There was still this room, but it was differently shaped. In retrospect, I should have thanked Death, but I am not sure I did.
I walked past other people playing the lever game (I think I noticed that some of their levers influenced levers of other people playing the game, which I suppose was pretty symbolical; but then again, all of the dream was.) I sat down in something like a toilet stall, and I really wish I could remember what happened then because I am sure it was some important stuff my subconscious was trying to tell me argh.
------
The dream was sometimes quite fragmented. For example, I remember asking the Carnival (or maybe Death) to show me my future and walking into room a room full of, again, something like toilet stalls. I entered one. After I closed the door, a construction dropped down from the door (of course it had not been there till I closed the door). I "recognized" it as a diaper changing table, except all the parts were basically just a mosquito net, and it was lined with a greenish strap of cloth, like two or three centimeters wide; I still knew it would support the weight of a child.
I asked "Is this the future?" I felt some discontent from the Carnival and remembered being told that so far, every single visitor of his individual stall had asked "Is this the future for me?" upon seeing what the Carnival was showing them, of course receiving no answer. And indeed I could now hear people asking "Is this the future for me?" from all the stalls around mine. I realized I was an anomaly, corrected myself to "Is this the future for me?" and felt content from the Carnival (basically a "things are running how they should again" feeling). No answer. Of course.
I looked above the stall door on the opposite wall of the room. (This should not have been possible, because the door was so high, but yay for dream physics). I saw something like a crudely drawn "view from above" design of the whole room, according to which my stall should have been somewhere different, but whatever. There were some descriptions on it, and a baby pictograph.
Underneath the blueprints was a handwritten note, written with pencil and my handwriting in block letters, despite me not remembering writing it; I concluded it must be from the future me. (Side note, I am pretty sure in the dream I read what the note said, but cannot remember aything of it now except that it was rather short, had two lines of text and an F somewhere in there).
Underneath my note, or maybe somewhere else, was a more officially looking note documenting how the room I was in wasn't "supposed" to be there, but kept reappearing, and the authors bafflement with it. (Yes I know I just said it was on the blueprints.)
----
Somewhere else, there was another room with stalls, and a waterglide leading down. (This is where I saw the 10€/30€ price shield).
----
Somewhere else, there was a room which really was full of toilet stalls. I remember there being a few for men, one of which had a shield which warning that the stall had "no support for father features!" or something like that. But all of them were closed or occupied, so just to test what the Carnival would do, I entered the only one labeled as for women. The light abruptly changed once (I think from blueish to orange or purple. That's another thing, I usually don't dream in colors, or if I do, they don't matter, so I don't remember them). I knew something BAD(tm) would happen if it changed to yet another color, because that somehow indicated an error, so I left in a hurry.
----
There is stuff I have forgotten, and I wish I could remember all of it.
At one point, I thought something about "a flurry of wings". I felt I was waking up and tried resisting, despite feeling I had already exceeded my hour I had been allotted in the Carnival. But then I thought "a flurry of wings" again...
I flew away from the Carnival shapeshifting into a cartoonish bat swarm and woke up.
I checked my phone. It was 07:55. I kept lying in my bed musing about how strange the dream was. Eventually, I must have fallen asleep again. I had a somewhat cryptic conversation with my ten year old me inside a sphere or bubble that kept shrinking as time passed by, indicating that our time together was running out, but I lucidly forced it to grow to keep talking. (I found that if you want to make a sphere you are in grow, it's easier to imagine a spiral motion instead of one increasing the diameter of a circle.)
I asked him for advice for some of my real-life troubles, but he only gave me the standard cryptic bullshit to follow the light and not the darkness (yes, literally.) I insisted how this was not an answer, refusing to let the bubble collapse, which would have made him leave. Eventually, he left anyway, I woke up, checked my phone again (it was 8:10) and sat down to write this post. And apparently, I have been typing for an hour :psyduck:
mtmerrick:
You dream in black and white? o_O
Loki:
Eh. I am not sure. I mostly don't remember the color of things in my dreams after I wake up. I think colors usually appear only if they are somehow relevant to the "plot". Otherwise, it's usually something like black and white, yes. It's difficult to explain, really.

Relevant, to the thread in general, nothing in particular
