I watched Midsommar, by Ari Aster, whose Hereditary is my favourite horror movie since the original Saw.
I found it a bit disappointing. It looks beautiful, it has some real horror in it, there's some truly great stuff in there. It has an incredible stench of Wickerman filtered through Kubrick, but that's kind of the way he makes his movies, as a heightening of the existing tropes.
But I think it left too much vague, and was way too long - and ultimately felt a little bit too much like 'yep don't scorn a woman' for my tastes, after Hereditary was such a gut-wrenching exploration of grief.
