mtmerrick:
Well in your friend's defense, it was pretty silly.

Especially 2015. >_<

Certainly NOT scifi. Family friendly adventure perhaps?

Thrillho:
Watched 21 And Over. Basically like a less mean spirited, smaller budget and less funny Hangover. But I liked it a lot more because it's not hateful.

ackblom12:
I decided to try and watch The Hangover the other night and turned it off after about 15 minutes because there were just so damn many cliches. Decided to watch The Orphanage instead and I'm not upset about that choice.

Also, the trailer for The World's End got released. This is the last movie in the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy that includes Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I'm pretty excited.

Thrillho:
I turned the Hangover off the second they got a baby to pretend to masturbate.

--- Quote from: mtmerrick on 05 May 2013, 22:56 ---If you were gonna do it you would use bird (probably ostrich or raptor(bird)) or reptile (probably crocodile or iguana) genes. Using an amphibian is just silly.

The one caveat I would maintain about Jurassic Park is that it was made 20 years ago; much of what was thought at the time has been proven incorrect since; theories and thoughts have been reviewed, revised and rewritten. Even more so in the novel, which was published in late 1990. Its different to the old "Lost World" type of films where the films makers used gila monsters and iguanas with cardboard fins as dinosaurs, the production team and their experts took what they knew, among them Bob Bakker and Jack Horner. Even they have admitted that some of their theories were incorrect since their work on the film.
Here's the thing, Jurassic Park was never meant to be a film about dinosaurs, but rather a cautionary tale about blindly jumping into a scientific field that few people had truly explored, with no regard for the consequences, much like the majority of Michael Cricthon's work. There were no dinosaurs in that film, they're extinct, the have been for millions of years, what they had were mutants that resembled dinosaurs. Take the cue from that, that these people are on an island to observe an experiment that went horrible awry.
