I just watched [movie x here]

Word of god says Evil Dead 2 is a sequel. They couldn't get the rights to use footage from the original so they had to reshoot it. Also my Partner has a much more simple argument which is, "It's a sequel because it has "two" in the title."
Although you can still easily watch and follow it without seeing the original, although I like the original so I would recommend watching it. It helps to remember it was intended as straight, but budget and its era made for camp.
Method of Madness:
Wait, that's it? There's nothing in the movie itself to link it back to the first one? Because word of god means nothing to me.
Welu:
"Word of god" refers to what the creator says. They all are related in film, the start of the sequels quickly recap the ending of the one before it.
Also a sequel to Army of Darkness is coming out called Army of Darkness 2 so we're ending up with a Rambo/First Blood title situation.

I'm aware of this, and I stand by my earlier statement. And interesting, I'll probably watch all three just to watch them even if I don't need to.
Aimless:
Def. didn't expect to enjoy Thor 2 almost as much as Avengers but whaddaya know :o best line of the movie: "Tadaaahh!"
Stay for both credit/post-credit scenes
