Welu:
My issue with Suckerpunch is that it came across as pretentious as hell to me. The whole time I feel like it's going, "We know what we're showing you is sexist but you're the sexist one for watching it because clearly you only came to see this film for the tits. Us providing the tits doesn't make us the sexist ones at all because we're vaguely aware of what we think we're trying to do."

It's one of the few things that counts as a rage button for me, but that's partially because people have brought it up to me just to piss me off, so I get pissed off they're trying to piss me off and that's all associated with my dislike of it too now.

Method of Madness:
I think that's more the fans who use that to justify the movie. To me, the movie itself is just, well...a mess.

Edguy:

I can see the sexism perspective, although I think it's no worse than many films with better reputations - but the film is incredibly stylised and I think that style is amazing.

I think the whole idea of Sucker Punch is a big slap in the face to the stereotypically sexist nerd culture, wanting to see hot chicks and crazy action. One might call it a sucker punch. It's just that the whole movie is pretty convoluted and badly put together, so the point sort of gets lost in transition. MovieBob (of The Escapist) did an interesting video about it.

LeeC:
because of one of the adverts before "Frozen," I watched Paranorman today (its been sitting on my netflix account for awhile).  It was a pretty good movie.  Good twist on zombies, ghosts, and witches.  Ending was heavy.

Blue Kitty:
Laika really hits it out of the park with Coraline and Paranorman, and I can't wait to see Boxtrolls
