A little additional background: is this true? (A: No, obviously not!)

I thought Hanner's "Someday everything is going to go right for you, and it'll be so wonderful you won't know what to do." was a nice thing to say, but I also think her saying it was probably at least slightly inspired by the fact that the quote effectively covers Hanner's experiences as well... Meeting Marten (and through that, the rest of the QC cast) has been really good for Hanners, and she's had moments where she's clearly been swamped by it - but she's persevered.

I think that seems to be the difference between Marigold and Hannelore - Marigold does give up a bit easily and she feels sorry for herself more readily than Hanners seems to.

I want to make some sort of joke that we discover Francis' middle name is Eli, and when Hannelore gets Marigold to come out to get cake, she finds out that it was just a ruse to come out to see Francis, who offers her ice cream, not cake.

...Thing is, I can't get the joke to the "Cake is Eli" punchline.

D'oh! Cat....another reason I keep the lid down. We use those cleaner tabs that make your toilet water blue and the last thing I want is a cat poisoned by my toilet.

My cat uses her paws to drink, but she's a weirdo. She also scoots her food out of the bowl, on to the floor and plays hockey with it before she decides it's edible. Sometimes, she leaves it in the middle of the floor because she's a jerk.


Also- D'awwwwwwwwww. Hanners is really making great strides! I hope that her improvements rub off on Mari. She's not hopeless, but she will be if she convinces herself otherwise. I hope we see more of Francis! (He just has to keep her out of Zero-G)

So far, totally agreeing with those projecting-hopes-of-her-own-life-also-going-well onto Marigold with this strip.

Man, these poor girls, though. Neither of them are too good with the boy thing (honestly, I'm not, either, but I didn't throw up on what was basically my first kiss (I know the Angus thing, I choose not to count it)), one is shy because she only has the internet for social examples, the other is shy because shes terrified of everything. And, yet, somehow they're helping each other with what is kickass advice. So. Maybe not "poor girls" but something close.
