--- Quote from: jmucchiello on 19 Mar 2012, 12:56 ---As much as I enjoyed the complete aw-ness of the moment, I find it hard to believe that EVERYBODY at the party understood the enormity of Hanners hugging her dad. There should have been a few people who went about their business as if nothing special were going on.

--- End quote ---

Or they think she had a cyborg implant.

I would suspect that, even among those who may not remember Hanners (and it seems that she hasn't been Earthside that long - it's probably only been about 9-10 years strip-time), they may know about her OCD from interactions with Dad and/or the others on the station.

Hanners leaves an impact on people whose lives intersect with hers. (I mean, look at all of us! ;) )

For comic #2146...

1. I have had no problems (quite the opposite) at how long the space story-arc has been going on, since we all know that "eventually" we will return to Northampton.  Far better than Jeph splitting the story-arc between space and Earth, I think.  For example: I love Order of the Stick and Girl Genius, but gods the way the story jumps between characters/groups across months with minor to miniscule progress...  Or the Song of Fire & Ice series, forget exactly which book it was, but there was a a point of 400+ pages of text and the most exciting and active thing that happened was an army marched across a farmer's crop field into a village :psyduck: .

2. Seeing singing scientist-girl's face in panel #1 (which made me chuckle), I am guessing the pirate whiskey had not aged very well.

3. It was also nice to see more than just Dr. Case tearing up at this poignant moment.

4. Drunken Lt. Potter and her (somewhat) ruining the moment is a very good reminder of why I no longer drink.  Being way in the rear of the crowd and mostly blocked from view, hopefully she is not "cheering" this moment in only a bra and panties  .

5. Lt. Potter may not be discharged, or necessarily even disciplined/punished for being drunk whilst off-duty, despite opinions and military experiences from our forum-cast.  However, public drunkeness has rarely (if ever) been beneficial to one's career or service, as well.  [It certainly never helped me any...  But hey, perhaps there is a Tony Stark &/or Carol Danvers out there among the forum-cast.]

FunkyTuba:
I noticed when we first met hannerdad that he didn't hug her.

Is this the big reveal? Or will there be something with more consequences that will come out of the trip to spaaaace!?

Hannerdad is not the biological father of Hanners.

What a twist!

edited to add: Hannerdad reveals that he is the father of Marten or Marigold.

What a twist!

redited to add: HannerDad had a tryst with Veronica Vance. (Veronica is abit vague for a few years.) So technically, Hanners and Marten are related.

What a twist!
