Oh yeah! When my dentist was working on my fillings he was listening to music as well. And singing with it. But I only half remember that because I was loopy on valium.

I think my brother said there was music when he went for an MRI and it was both kind of relaxing and then terrifying for him when the loud pounding started. The reason he was having an MRI wasn't too serious, or at least he didn't think it was, so he wasn't nervous going in which would help a lot.

See, I never got any Nitrous or Valium or stuff when I went to the dentist. Our dentist just gives you a local anesthetic and that's it.

I hate those needles.

I hadn't seen a dentist in maybe 15 years, besides a quick (and awful) cleaning where the dentist told me I'd need fillings. So I was terrified. My anxiety was super high and I wasn't even getting the fillings for a couple of weeks. So I asked him for something to help with that. I got a single, small dose of valium the night before, and another a half hour before my appointment. Then I got all the usual anesthetic (and holy fuck I hate those needles too), and it was pretty nice, actually. I was half asleep through the whole thing. If only they had let me do the same thing for the rest of my fillings.

I'm definitely asking for that when I have to get teeth pulled. They want to remove all my wisdom teeth (dunno if I'm gonna say yes to that or not), plus I have a tooth that never fully erupted that they want to remove and replace with an implant. I'd prefer to be half asleep for it, otherwise I will be having a panic attack in the chair.

My dentist warms his needles up so that they're body temp. That helps. You could ask. Wisdom teeth can be a big thing but it can also be easy. It's not a guaranteed bloodbath, pain, murder, death situation.

Also, tuesday, I have to go to the dentist and shit is wrong again.

I would reconsider if you're thinking about putting off pulling wisdom teeth. Thing about wisdom teeth is, even if they don't grow out, they'll continue moving and reforming your teeth. Also, because they keep moving, it will get harder and harder to pull them out the longer you wait.

I have my wisdom teeth vacuum packed in Ankara as a souvenir.

Oh mine have all erupted, and they're in straight as well - though huge and malformed as most are. I just... don't want teeth pulled. I dunno. I also don't have the money right now, both to get it done and to miss work to get it done, but I will see how I feel when I have the money to do those things.

I do really want to get the short tooth pulled, it has fucked things up in that area, plus food can get stuck there and it hurts.

The biggest problem with wisdom teeth like yours, Neko - and I had them like that too - is that they're impossible to keep completely clean.  So at some point, they'll start to rot, and then break or get infected, which makes things worse (trust me, you don't want them going in to get out the shards of a shattered one).

Get them out while they're in one piece, or at the latest, at the very first sign of trouble.  I had all of mine into my 30's, but by the time I was in my mid 40's, they were all gone.

On MRI's: At children's hospital in Pittsburgh, they give the kid a helmet that has goggles and headphones, and let them watch a movie during the MRI.  After strapping them down, of course.

In other news, I am craving another new rifle. I am already getting a least one this year as part of school. I questioned if I had a problem, but the smell of gun oil snapped me back to normal.

At first I thought "Lola" was referring to that Copacabana song (Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl...) and couldn't work out the link between it and trans* issues.  :psyduck:

The last line could be interpreted as, "I'm glad I'm a man and Lola is also a man." or "I'm glad I'm a man and Lola is also glad that I am a man." Although the event it's based on according to the Kinks's official biography is:
Quote
In his apartment, Robert [Wace, the band's producer] had been dancing with this black woman, and he said, 'I'm really onto a thing here.' And it was okay until we left at six in the morning and then I said, 'Have you seen the stubble?' He said 'Yeah,' but he was too pissed [intoxicated] to care, I think.

I have three types of passwords, and each one has variations on it for the amount of security needed. I get super annoyed when I have to adjust one to fit into a new login. Like a credit card I have - I had to mix two of my passwords to make it work, and I am totally annoyed by that.

Also one of my passwords is based off one I used when I was 15.
